This is Jacetts. It was set up by John Trickey in 1989. Jacetts manufactures and sells sportswear.

In the early '90s the football shirt was dominated by the likes of Umbro, Nike and Admiral. It still is. But John Trickey, managing director of Jacetts, studied that market and found a gap.

John looked at football shirts and started to get the catalogues in and he noticed that for boys, youth football, there was only two sizes, two colours. You could have a red shirt or a blue shirt in two sizes, which is hardly anything out there, and considering the number of boys teams out there, playing every Sunday, we thought, well this is a market.

There is in the East Kent youth league, which is the area around here, 120 boys football teams. We now supply kits to 100 of them.

We were then able to offer sweatshirts with club badges on, Bronx hats with school logo's on, embroidered, for school kids. It gave another product range which was quite useful.

We at Jacetts are able to meet the customers design requirements in house, and a football shirt for example, is manufactured, sponsor printed, club embroidered and number printed.

As the market has changed, products are now bought in, and customised to the customer's requirements, by adding embroidery and printing.
